Behind: Joy Of Life

Joy is her birthright.

All artworks represent a certain period, feeling, or experience. Some with a greater impact than others, just like life itself. I want to share the thoughts behind this artwork with you.

Birds in my artworks represent guidance. This bird shows her the way toward joy in life. This is why the bird playfully hangs upside down. Despite her name, Princess Joy does not feel this at all. She looks at the bird with a sharp gaze. She doesn’t understand it, but she does follow the instructions and tries to dance along with the joy of what she is being taught. The artwork deliberately consists of two parts, to visualize the distance Princess Joy feels. Yet despite the distance she experiences, she still lives in the same world as the bird—the place where she will [once again] come into bloom, because joy is her birthright.
